Baird, Williams & Greer welcomes William D. Sawkiw as a new partner. Mr. Sawkiw has practiced law in the valley for over a decade and brings a wide range of business law and litigation experience to the BWG team. His business law focus blends nicely with the existing practice areas at BWG. For the last several years, Mr. Sawkiw has managed his own solo business law practice, representing clients of all sizes on corporate matters and commercial litigation cases. Prior to that, Mr. Sawkiw worked at Fennemore Craig, one of the largest firms in the valley. There, he handled commercial litigation and business torts cases, with a large component of his practice focused on construction and real estate industry clients. Mr. Sawkiw began his career as a prosecutor at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, where he managed a felony caseload and first-chaired numerous jury trials.
Mr. Sawkiw grew up in the Chicago suburbs and completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, where he was on the Moot Court Board, competed on the National Moot Court team, received the Order of Barristers award, and was a teaching assistant for the first-year legal writing program.
